Position Summary

The Chief Medical Officer’s role is to oversee all aspects of Flagship’s clinical operation, including CLIA and clinical trials. This role involves being the highest level of compliance support and validation for all lab related activities that will be applied to diagnostics and/or regulatory needs. This person will also be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure that lab activities are accurate and reproducible. Experience with image analysis in a histology.pathology setting greatly preferred. 

Essential Job Functions

• Holds the functional position of Flagship’s CLIA Laboratory Director
• Highest level authority of clinical activities, including CLIA
• Provide leadership and oversight for novel assay validation, may include image analysis components 
• Oversee lab procedure implementation 
• Proactive interaction with internal departments and with pharmaceutical and biotech clients in assay development and interpretation

Basic Qualifications

• MD with histology lab experience
• Board certification in Pathology 
• Ability to work with a diversified technical team
• Comfortable with making high-level decisions
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Proven ability to set and achieve goals in line with an overall strategy
• Ability to manage, identify, and implement changes in day to day lab operations 
• Working image analysis experience is a plus
