Engineering a world of possibilities
Colorado School of Mines (Mines) is seeking a visionary builder to serve as the Director of Startup Success at the Beck Venture Center. This role creates the founder experience that people talk about for years. You will design, coordinate, and elevate the programs, people, and pathways that move startups from early spark to unstoppable momentum.Think of this role as the Mines version of a Managing Director of a top-tier accelerator. You are the architect of an environment where founders get sharper, faster, clearer, and more confident. You will build the systems and rituals that define what it feels like to launch at Mines. You will curate a mentor network so strong that founders rearrange their schedules to be part of it. You will orchestrate programming that fuels breakthroughs. And you will cultivate the partnerships that make Mines a gravitational force for ambitious technical founders across the Front Range.
You are not just supporting startups. You are shaping the platform that accelerates hard tech, science-driven, and founder-led innovation at one of the world’s top engineering institutions.
This is a role for someone who wants to build something iconic. Something lasting. Something founders will call the best part of their journey.
In less than two years, the Beck Venture Center has emerged as one of the most exciting hubs for innovation and startup growth in Colorado. Part of the Colorado School of Mines, Beck offers over 31,000 square feet of coworking, event, and innovation space. More than 60 companies have already launched or scaled inside our walls, collectively raising over $50 million in funding. And we are just getting started.
Beck is a key pillar of the Mines Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem. The McNeil Center trains the next generation of student founders and engineering leaders. The Labriola Innovation Hub is where prototypes, physical products, and inventions take shape. The Beck Venture Center is where real companies form and thrive.
Beck is the commercialization powerhouse that launches student ventures, accelerates spinouts from Mines’ world-class research labs, and supports alumni and Colorado founders building the next wave of hard tech and science-driven companies. It is where founders find their momentum and where breakthrough ideas get the support they need to scale into impact.
The Director of Startup Success is the engine that powers the founder experience at Mines. You will build the systems that help startups thrive, the networks that open doors, and the programs that position Mines as a rising national leader in hard tech venture creation.
You are not just supporting startups. You are shaping the trajectory of founders who will change the world.
