SUMMARY
The Head of Finance will be responsible for all the finance and accounting functions of the company. This will include direct responsibility for all general accounting, cost accounting, monthly reporting, analysis of operating results, forecasting/budgeting, strategic planning, and compliance. This person will be involved in ERP implementation and must ensure that proper policies/procedures and internal controls are in place. The role reports directly to the Site Director. They will oversee a team of 15 people and will serve as the Business Partner for the ownership group, Managing Director, and the rest of the executive team.
They must be a big picture and strategic thinker who will oversee the day-to-day details of the department. It is essential to have strong communication and leadership skills, excellent analytical skills, hands-on accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to manage a department in a fast-paced/high growth environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide leadership/management of all the general accounting functions, including the proper recording of all transactions, general ledger account reconciliations, the monthly closing process, capital expenditure accounting, and the timely preparation of monthly financial statements
- Prepare a monthly reporting package that includes full financial statements, comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, operational dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus budget variances, and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences
- Oversight of the cost accounting function including inventory analysis, development of cost models, standard cost updates, and variance analysis
- Constantly monitor cash flow performance and cash forecasting
- Direct all budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost proposals
- Oversight of the implementation of a new ERP software
- Implement and maintain policies and procedures for accounting, risk management, internal controls, regulatory and legal issues, and business ethics
- Optimize business processes for improved ROI and operational efficiency. Provide ongoing analysis to ensure financial discipline in all areas of the business
- Manage and supervise all tax functions including income tax compliance and consulting
- Work closely with the General Manager and Corporate CFO on financial strategy, growth initiatives, and high-level decision-making, while playing an integral role in long-term strategic planning
- Work closely with the Board of Directors and develop presentations to the Board
- Coach, mentor, and direct all direct reports to create highly impactful, high performing teams
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Corporate CFO
LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct leadership for Finance, Accounting and Payroll employees. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. MBA is desirable. CPA license is strongly preferred. Ten years of experience in manufacturing (pharmaceutical industry experience) is a plus. Current or prior experience working in a dynamic, private equity-owned business.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, scientific and public groups, as well as to boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with multiple abstract and concrete variables.
