THE ROLE:
The Business Systems Analyst II supports cross-functional collaboration by helping elicit, analyze, and document accurate business needs before solutions are designed. This role develops a strong understanding of the processes that support our products and works with business operations and IT to promote clear communication and alignment. Starting with conceptual information, the analyst helps refine requirements within the broader business context, translates solution components into actionable deliverables, and supports deployment and ongoing operational execution. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, comfortable asking reflective questions, and committed to strengthening Biodesix’s ability to meet business objectives through well-vetted requirements, effective collaboration, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Business Analysis and Requirements
- Support business analysis activities by eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and communicating company, department, business systems, and user needs in collaboration with business stakeholders and IT partners.
- Author accurate user requirements, software requirements, and other related artifacts such as process flow diagrams and state transition diagrams.
- Identify relevant KPIs and metrics for business processes to measure effectiveness, track improvements, and support data-driven decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of product offerings and associated processes, while fostering alignment across departments.
- Serve as a liaison between business operations and IT, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Prepare and deliver engaging demos and presentations to stakeholders, ensuring complex information is clearly conveyed and understood.
Project Coordination and Delivery
- Support project coordination activities by helping define scope, check timelines, coordinate with resources, and monitor deliverables to support successful completion.
- Assist end users with change management, including deployment support and providing training.
Testing, Traceability, and System Support
- Identify end-to-end test scenarios for software releases and create requirements traceability documentation as required.
- Support system maintenance by evaluating software and hardware issues and coordinating resolutions.
- Continuous Improvement and Best Practices
- Stay current with technology and industry trends, provide recommendations for continuous improvement, and pursue supplemental training as needed.
- Collaborate with members of the IT team to proactively advance technology initiatives and consistently apply best practices.
